The bridal bouquet is the flower arrangement that gets looked at and photographed the most at a wedding. It has to go with the dress, the venue and the personality of whoever carries it. Klumba Flores is a florist we are preparing in Montevideo, and the natural bridal bouquet will be one of our offers. If you are marrying in Uruguay as an expat, or planning a wedding from abroad, this is for you too.

We have not opened yet. This page explains how we plan to work on bridal bouquets and how ordering will work. There are no products or prices published, and we would rather say so plainly than show you something that does not exist. If you want to hear the day we open, leave your contact in the form below.

Bridal bouquet styles we will offer

  • Round, compact bouquet: classic and neat, with roses or peonies grouped together. Suits traditional dress cuts.
  • Loose, “just picked” bouquet: with greenery and small flowers and a natural look. Very common at outdoor weddings.
  • Cascade bouquet: with branches and flowers falling forward. More dramatic and made for formal ceremonies.
  • Minimalist bouquet: a few large flowers, such as calla lilies, tulips or a single well-chosen variety.

Flowers for a bridal bouquet

The flowers used most often in bridal bouquets are:

  • Roses, in white, cream or pale pink, for their shape and scent.
  • Peonies, depending on the season: in the southern hemisphere they tend to appear in spring.
  • Hydrangeas and freesias, for volume and fragrance.
  • Calla lilies, for an elegant, simple bouquet.
  • Baby’s breath and eucalyptus, which add texture and green, as in the photo.

Available flowers depend on the time of year and on what arrives fresh, so the bouquet is settled by looking at what is available for your wedding date. If you want to know what each flower is usually taken to mean, see our guide to flower names and their meaning.

Wedding flowers: beyond the bouquet

Besides the bridal bouquet, many couples also ask for bridesmaids’ bouquets, a boutonniere for the groom, ceremony flowers and table centrepieces. Once we open you will be able to ask what we can prepare for your date.

How ordering will work

A bridal bouquet is not ordered like a regular bouquet: it is talked through. First you tell us the date, the style of the dress, the wedding colours and your budget. Then we settle the bouquet together and arrange delivery or pick-up in Montevideo for the day and hour you need. The sooner you write, the more room there is to choose flowers.

How to care for the bouquet before and after

If you receive it a few hours ahead, keep it in clean water, somewhere cool and out of the sun. After the wedding, some bouquets can be dried and kept as a souvenir; this is something to talk about when you place the order.

We are finishing the last details. If you want to be the first to hear, leave your email or WhatsApp in the form and we will write to you when the shop is ready to take orders.

Frequently asked questions

Which flowers go into a natural bridal bouquet?
The most common are roses, peonies, hydrangeas, freesias, calla lilies, baby's breath and greenery such as eucalyptus. What is possible depends on the time of year and on what is fresh.
How far ahead should I order a bridal bouquet?
In general it is best to talk to the florist several weeks ahead, or earlier if your wedding falls in a busy season, to settle the style and confirm the flowers. This is general advice.
Can I arrange wedding flowers in Montevideo with Klumba Flores?
That is what we are preparing. We have not opened and have no products or prices published, but you can leave your contact and we will tell you when we can take enquiries.
How long does a natural bridal bouquet last?
It depends on the flowers and the weather. A natural bouquet is made to look good on the wedding day and, kept in water and away from heat, often stays fine for a day or two after.
